Sigley plans discussions with Philippe Saint Andre when Sale's director of rugby returns from holiday tomorrow but if a better contract cannot be thrashed out he will return to part-time rugby with Moseley in National One next season and work for a construction firm.
"Ideally I would like to stay in the Premiership but I have told Sale that I can't afford to live on the money that have offered me," Sigley said.
"I'm at an age now where I have to start looking towards the future. If I join Moseley it will mean returning to play part-time rugby but I did some work with a construction company when I was with them last year and there is the option of me going to work there again."
Sigley was released by Gloucester last season and he struggled to find a new club until he was recruited by Northampton on a short-term contract during the World Cup.
But Sigley was allowed to leave Franklin's Gardens in November and was then signed by Moseley on another short-term deal before Sale stepped in.
"I have benefited from being in a full-time environment," Sigley said. "I'd like to stay full-time, but that will depend on my talks with Sale."
