County get off to a flying start
By Coventry Telegraph October 7 2008
WINGER Ryan O'Neill and scrum-half Greg Hancox scored two tries apiece as Warwickshire opened their Midlands Under-18 Championship campaign with a 41-19 win over Staffordshire in a free-flowing game at Broadstreet. Hancox crossed twice on either side of his Old Coventrians clubmate O'Neill's first, Lee Chapman converting one, as Warwickshire led 17-7 at half-time.
Warwick School full-back Harry Gillespie added an unconverted try early in the second half, and although Staffs responded with their second try to bring the gap back to ten points, Warwickshire came again with tries from centre Sam Miller (Warwick School), converted by Chapman, O'Neill and replacement centre Josh Knight (Barkers Butts), who also converted his own try. Warwickshire travel to Droitwich tomorrow to play North Midlands (7.30pm).
