vs Huddersfield Giants- Friday 11th July 2008.

Super League Round 21

Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Was that as good as you could have expected in those conditions?

I thought it went pretty well in the first half. We sustained periods in the game a lot better and I was happy with that but I thought the second half was really poor and both teams were poor. We’ve still got a lot of work to do.

Work to do on what?

We coughed up the ball quite a bit. We kick chased really well in the first half; we took a lot of energy out of them by controlling our sets and making good kicks.

Second half, both teams coughed the ball up a lot. We spilt it about eight times, Huddersfield probably more.

It was not quality football.

You looked hot after the restart?

Yes but then it just flattened out and we need to improve on that. If we want to stay in the big games and compete at the top level, then we’ll have to do better than that.

Good to have Toopi back?

It was and that is a positive. It was good to see him out there and he looked good on his feet. Also, we were able to give guys game time too. Carl Ablett and Ali Lauititi got good run outs and were out there longer than should have been.

Any injuries to players?

Matt Diskin had to come off early as he hyper extended his elbow. He will be iced up and we will see how it is during the week. Hopefully, it is not too bad but he’s a tough customer and doesn’t like to come off.

Ryan Bailey limped off but I don’t think it is something too major.

Out of the two, Diskin come out worse.
