Donald WILL be back!
It has been announced today that Scott Donald has a popped rib cartilage, and that he will play for the Rhinos this season.
It was suspected that Aussie winger, Scott Donald, who had not missed a minute of a game, until the clash with the Warrington Wolves, (due to the birth of his baby daughter) will not be apart of any further 2008 Super League action. Brian McClennan though told the Yorkshire Evening Post that “he is on the mend”, and that although he wont take part in the last home game of the season against Castleford, or that all important trip to Wigan the week after, he could play in the last game of the season against Wakefield at Belle Vue.
So, maybe there is some advantages with not being in the Carnegie Challenge Cup final? Brian McClennan made a point that it allows Donald a further week to recover from his injury.
Ryan Hall (foot) and Clinton Toopi (knee) have of course been ruled out for the rest of the season, but there is still hope for Ryan Bailey (ankle) and Jamie Jones-Buchanan (hamstring), even though they will be restricted to the side lines for the clash against Cas at the Headingley Carnegie. Maybe, if those long term injuries are still out past the Wigan game, that week off will help them too?
There is somebody returning this Friday though: Ali Lauitiiti will be returning from his one match ban, after missing last weeks fierce derby.
We’ll also find out this evening wether Platt will be miss the rest of the season due to suspension. He head butted Donald in Friday’s West Yorkshire derby encounter, and could face a maximum five match ban. Without Platt, maybe there is still a chance that the Bulls will miss out on the play offs for the first time in their history...no bull!
