PRITCHARD TO RHINOS?

NRL > Super League?

There have been unconfirmed reports circulating that the Leeds Rhinos have signed the under-contract Penrith Panthers second-rower, Frank Pritchard. Cheif executive Gary Hetherington did refuse to rule out an approach to Pritchard, and Panthers boss Mick Leary and the players agent, David Riolo, deny links to the Super League.

The theory is that Leeds want to bring in Pritchard to replace Gareth Ellis, who is NRL bound at the end of the season (Wests Tigers). Whilst speaking to the The Daily Telepgraph, Gary Hetherington said that they are of course in the market for a player, but it doesn’t have to be a back rower, although he did say he is looking to replace Gareth Ellis.

"We're in the market. We have been linked with a number of players. I can't discuss any of them really." The Daily Telegraph

Although Leeds have been linked with a number of players, many are saying this is looking the most promising. But Panthers coach, Mick Leary, told yesterday’s Guardian that he is under contract, and will not be leaving the club.

"All I can say is that Frank Pritchard is under contract to Penrith and won't be going anywhere." Guardian

If he does sign for the World Champions, we will make sure we are one of the first to do so. There should be more on this story, and we’ll bring it you as we get it.
