Brian McClennan is confident that the injured Danny Buderus will still move to the Leeds Rhinos at the end of the season, even though he is expected to be out for up to six months.

The thirty year old Australian hooker signed a two year contract with Leeds, but there were rumors circulating that the deal could be broken because of his injury which he picked up whilst playing for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL.

Buderus has a ruptured bicep, and it is more than likely that he would miss the start of the 2009 engage Super League season, if he was to still join the Rhinos.

But the good news is that Bluey is confident that the ex-international will be part of Leeds’ new Super League campaign, and says he would only miss the first four rounds of the season, even if he did have an operation.

"It doesn't affect us at all this year," he explained to the Yorkshire Evening Post yesterday. "He isn't a Rhinos player yet, but we are all very sad for him.

"It just shows that there's nothing certain in sport. He has had some highs and this would be the biggest low for him.

"But he will rise up. He is a champion. He will come over and be ready for next year.”
