Glaws fingers crossed for a trouble-free summer

Ryan Lamb - in USA
By Cherry Picker June 6 2008
It's going to be a tense time over the next few weeks, so Gloucester coach Dean Ryan and the club's fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that Glaws players will steer clear of injury or recover from surgery in time to play a full part in pre-season training ready for the big kick-off in September.

With players currently scattered all over the world playing for their countries in matches many fans - and possibly many coaches - will say are meaningless, here's always a risk they will pick up injuries.
It's happened before, of course, including last summer.
And to complicate matters further, some players are recovering from summer sugery hoping to make good progress before training starts.
JSD try v BristolOne of them is Guinness Premiership Player of the Season james Simpson- Daniel (right), who has had an op on the shoulder injury which caused problems for him during the season.
Sinbad told he Citizen: "The operation has gone really well. Now I am looking forward to next season.
"It is in a sling, but I can take it out to get some movement in it to help the recovery.
"Because it's a shoulder injury, I should still be able to be running and putting some useful work in during pre-season."
The operation meant JSD missed out on a summer chance to play for England, and he added: "Any opportunity to play for England I want to take. So to miss another chance through injury is disappointing.
"But Martin Johnson called me to discuss the situation which I found encouraging. He's a very professional guy who I get on with well - to get a call like that from him is good for a player.
"I don't know where I stand looking at the autumn internationals but I just have to keep working hard and hopefully my chance will come."

Its a shame for Sinbad because this tour would of been a major opportunity with Sackey crocked. All he can do is start next season in the form he has been showing and if he is fit he must surely get the nod for the A.Is. On a side note I see Qera has been called up by Fiji for the Pacific Nations Cup.

It's a pity that our players' well-being is being put at risk in these silly international games.
