Wasps Opening Gambit Again Falls Short

ROBBED OF STRENGTH
By Vespasian September 20 2007
Typically, Wasps lost their opening match of the new season, the "Double Header" meeting with Saracens. The "visitors" out-muscled Wasps to win by ten points, despite a late rally which could have earned us a losing bonus point -- little wonder with 10 internationals away at the World Cup.

In truth, Saracens won easily by three tries to one, having sealed their victory by the hour mark. Joe Ward clawed Wasps back to within ten points with a short-range score.

However, a torrid finish went awry when Tom Voyce took a quick tap and go when the ball should have been handed to Dan Cipriani, who had not missed a goal all afternoon.

Worcester beckon this weekend, where Wasps have yet to do well.

I have justed watched this game again and I have to say we made so many errors and committed stupid penalties. It looked a little bit like we were in the ' yeah yeah we'll beat them in a minute ' zone. Will need to pick it up against Worcester this weekend. Go Wasps
