By Lucian Roberts May 10 2007 Following an EGM held on 8th May, the members of Lockside RFC have voted to join Lockside with Harlequin Amateurs to form a new club. The new club will use the Harlequin name and will be continue to be based in Teddington, Middlesex at the St. Mary's University Grounds at Broom Road and Waldegrave Road.
Lockside's existing clubhouse over looking the River Thames will house the new club.
Nice to see the club returning to Teddington after 30+ years. I understand that at one time they used the ground where Collis Primary School is located.
Mel A: I believe there is a meeting next week of the Middlesex RFU to decide, I suppose the headline might be a tad misleading, it's more to do with Lockside voting for the merger.
I think this is a great coup for us. We get a club house and much better pitches near some transport plus we are still our club and who knows they may have a couple of players to boost our squad. Well done to whoever for taking over lockside and keeping our club alive. Anyone else have any thoughts.............
Prof It's not, The plan is to have people from both clubs taking care of day to day business.
The guys at lockside are really up for the merger.
I am looking forward to summer training starting in july.
I am getting fat
