At halftime Harlequin Amateurs switched the majority of the team to allow all players who have been training regularly this pre season an equal opportunity to stake their claim for a 1st team spot.

The match, which was closely contested up until the 60 minute mark, was a good indication of the expansive game that Harlequin Amateurs plan to play this Season with the majority of the scorers being either Full Backs or Wings. However the opening the try of the season was scored by a Prop, Jon Fairweather, in the 10th minute.
This season is full of promise for the newly merged Club. The player base is substantially bigger than previous years as a result of the merger and also as a result of a recruitment campaign which has brought in over 20 new players. More players whatever their levels are however more than welcome as we plan to field a minimum of three sides this season.
